Peter was born on 11.10.27 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. He emigrated to Canada in 1951 where he worked in a variety of jobs and married Hilde in 1953. They moved to the USA in 1954 where their 3 children were born. He trained as a helicopter pilot at Van Nuys Airport California and first flew commercially in Alaska, and later in Colorado and Louisiana. In 1967 he came to Australia for Helicopter Utilities and later Airfast in Sydney. He was contracted to fly in remote areas of Australia and New Guinea on mining survey work. With the contraction of this work in the 70s he flew in New Zealand and Indonesia. Having developed health problems he ceased flying and developed a Pest Control business in Sydney. A heart attack in 1989 forced early retirement and a move to the Sunshine Coast. He joined QAM and enjoyed the fellowship. He died on 7.3.98 in Prince Charles Hospital and is buried in Mooloolah Cemetery.
