Don was born in Victoria on 31.7.1923. He lived and worked in the south for most of his life and this included a period running a local shop. He retired to Caloundra and became involved in the museum. He became Vice President in 1988 and held this position until 1991 when ill health forced his retirement. He battled leukaemia until his passing on 25.6.95 but always tried to attend the museum on Wednesdays. A clock was presented to the museum in his memory by Gladys.
