Withdrawn from service. Abandoned at Surfers Paradise Raceway.
QAM expressed interest in the aircraft when Surfers Paradise Raceway was advertised for sale.
The new owners of Surfers Paradise Raceway granted permission for QAM to remove the aircraft.
The aircraft was inspected by QAM members for the purpose of planning its removal. At this time it was discovered that the engine and propeller had been removed. Also the airframe had suffered some damage from vandals.
Collected from Surfers Paradise Raceway by QAM and placed in storage pending restoration. Subsequently a cockpit canopy was donated.
Transferred to Gary Volkers in exchange for Fairey Gannet XA331 plus one set of Vampire wings and various Sabre components. Mr Volkers intends to restore the Airtourer to airworthy status. QAM has first refusal on purchase of Airtourer should Mr Volkers decide to dispose of it. Aircraft trucked to Grafton on this date and exchange agreement signed same day.
Re-purchased from Gary Volkers in partially restored state.
Delivered to QAM.
Handed over to QAM at Caloundra following a three year restoration as VH-CFE by the Queensland Institute for Aviation Engineering. A Victa 100 handed over on the 100th anniversary of powered flight!
